Production Manager Job - Metals Manufacturing, Ayr

FindCore are thrilled to be assisting an established metals manufacturing business with the recruitment of a Production Manager.

Permanent, full-time position based in Ayr.

Salary

Fully negotiable, depending on experience + additional benefits

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day production activity across the manufacturing site.
• Lead, support and develop production teams and supervisors.
• Ensure output, quality and delivery targets are consistently achieved.
• Plan labour, machinery and production resources effectively.
• Monitor productivity, downtime and production performance.
• Work closely with maintenance, quality, warehouse and senior management teams.
• Drive continuous improvement across production processes.
• Maintain strong health & safety and housekeeping standards.
• Support production planning and resolve operational issues quickly.
• Monitor KPIs and provide regular performance updates.

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience as a Production Manager, Manufacturing Manager or similar.
• Strong background within metals, engineering or heavy manufacturing.
• Proven people-management and leadership experience.
• Good understanding of production planning and manufacturing processes.
• Strong health & safety awareness.
• Confident managing performance, productivity and operational targets.
• Strong problem-solving and organisational skills.
• Experience with continuous improvement or lean manufacturing would be advantageous.
