What are the key responsibilities of an Operations Manager?

• Oversee the day-to-day operational performance of the engineering business.
• Manage engineering teams, workloads, resources and project delivery.
• Ensure projects and services are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
• Monitor operational performance, productivity and quality.
• Coordinate labour, materials, suppliers and subcontractors where required.
• Work closely with senior management on budgets, planning and business performance.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency and profitability.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
• Support recruitment, training and development across operational teams.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety, quality and company procedures.

What skills and experience are required for this Operations Manager role?

• Previous experience in an Operations Manager, Engineering Manager or similar leadership role.
• Strong background within engineering, manufacturing, technical services or a related sector.
• Proven experience managing teams and operational performance.
• Strong commercial and financial awareness.
• Excellent leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Experience managing multiple projects or workstreams.
• Good understanding of health and safety and quality standards.
• Confident working with clients, suppliers and senior stakeholders.
