About the Role

The Mechanical Engineer will play a key role in supporting the design, development, maintenance and improvement of mechanical systems, equipment and processes across the business.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong and motivated engineer who enjoys problem-solving, improving performance and working within a fast-paced engineering environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting mechanical design activity, reviewing technical drawings, identifying engineering improvements, assisting with fault finding, supporting maintenance teams, and ensuring machinery, equipment and systems operate safely and efficiently.

The role will involve working closely with production, maintenance, design, quality and operations teams to support day-to-day engineering requirements, improve reliability, reduce downtime and contribute to continuous improvement projects.

This position would suit someone who is hands-on, analytical and confident working across a range of mechanical engineering tasks within a growing and ambitious company.

Essential Criteria

• Previous experience in a Mechanical Engineer, Design Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, Project Engineer or similar engineering role
• Strong mechanical engineering knowledge and problem-solving ability
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering documentation
• Good understanding of mechanical systems, components and equipment
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work across multiple departments
• Ability to manage workload, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety
• Good general IT skills, including Microsoft Office

Desirable Criteria

• Degree, HNC, HND or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
• Experience within manufacturing, engineering, industrial, automotive, aerospace or heavy industry environments
• Knowledge of CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor or similar
• Experience supporting maintenance, reliability or continuous improvement projects
• Understanding of health and safety, quality or compliance standards
• Experience working with hydraulic, pneumatic or rotating equipment systems
