FindCore are thrilled to be assisting an established logistics and supply chain business with the recruitment of a Customs Manager.
Permanent, full-time position based in Glasgow.
Salary
Fully negotiable, depending on experience + additional benefits
Key Responsibilities
- Manage import and export customs activity across the business.
- Oversee customs declarations and ensure documentation is completed accurately.
- Ensure compliance with UK customs regulations and international trade requirements.
- Support import and export movements from initial documentation through to clearance.
- Liaise with HMRC, freight forwarders, carriers, customers and suppliers.
- Monitor commodity codes, duties, tariffs and customs procedures.
- Manage customs records, audits and compliance documentation.
- Resolve customs issues, clearance delays and documentation discrepancies.
- Provide guidance to internal teams on import and export requirements.
- Review processes and identify opportunities to improve customs efficiency and compliance.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience as a Customs Manager, Customs Compliance Manager or senior customs professional.
- Strong experience dealing with both imports and exports.
- Good knowledge of UK customs regulations and procedures.
- Experience with customs declarations, commodity codes and tariffs.
- Strong understanding of import/export documentation.
- Confident liaising with HMRC, freight forwarders and logistics providers.
- Strong attention to detail and compliance awareness.
- Good communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
- Experience within logistics, freight forwarding, manufacturing or supply chain would be advantageous.
