Commercial Manager Job in Construction - Edinburgh (£60-70k)
FindCore are thrilled to be assisting an established construction business with the recruitment of a Commercial Manager.
Permanent, full-time position based in Edinburgh.
Salary
£60,000 – £70,000, depending on experience + additional benefits
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the commercial management of construction projects from pre-construction through to final account.
- Manage budgets, forecasts, valuations and commercial reporting.
- Oversee subcontractor procurement, appointments and commercial performance.
- Manage variations, applications for payment and final accounts.
- Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities.
- Work closely with Project Managers, Contracts Managers and site teams.
- Support contract negotiations and ensure commercial compliance.
- Monitor project margins and overall financial performance.
- Build strong relationships with clients, consultants and subcontractors.
- Provide commercial guidance and support to junior members of the team.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience as a Commercial Manager, Senior Quantity Surveyor or similar within construction.
- Strong commercial and contract-management experience.
- Good understanding of construction contracts, procurement and subcontractor management.
- Proven experience with valuations, variations and final accounts.
- Strong financial and commercial awareness.
- Confident managing multiple projects and priorities.
- Excellent negotiation, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related discipline would be advantageous.
- RICS or similar professional qualification would be beneficial.
