Civil Engineer

FindCore are thrilled to be assisting an established engineering consultancy with the recruitment of a Civil Engineer.

This is a permanent, full-time position based in Edinburgh. The successful candidate will join an experienced engineering team delivering a varied portfolio of residential, commercial and infrastructure projects.

Salary

£35,000–£50,000, depending on experience + Excellent Benefits

Working Hours

Monday to Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm

Flexible and hybrid working can be considered.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce civil engineering designs for roads, drainage and external works.
• Prepare technical drawings, calculations, reports and specifications.
• Design sustainable drainage systems and surface-water management solutions.
• Support projects from initial concept through to detailed design and construction.
• Coordinate with clients, architects, contractors, local authorities and other consultants.
• Assist with planning applications, technical approvals and construction documentation.
• Attend design meetings and site visits when required.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant technical standards and regulations.
• Manage project deadlines and deliver accurate, high-quality work.

Skills & Experience

• Degree, HNC or HND in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Previous civil engineering experience within a UK consultancy or construction environment.
• Experience designing roads, drainage and infrastructure for development projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and relevant civil engineering design software.
• Experience using Civil 3D, PDS, MicroDrainage or InfoDrainage would be beneficial.
• Good understanding of sustainable drainage systems and current design standards.
• Strong technical, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage workloads and work effectively across multiple projects.
• Working towards professional membership or chartered status would be advantageous.
• Full UK driving licence is preferred.
