Chartered Building Surveyor

FindCore are thrilled to be assisting an established property and construction consultancy with the recruitment of a Chartered Building Surveyor.

Permanent, full-time position based in Edinburgh.

Salary

£50,000 – £60,000, depending on experience + additional benefits

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out building surveys, condition surveys and defect inspections.
• Prepare technical reports, specifications and schedules of work.
• Advise clients on building defects, maintenance and refurbishment requirements.
• Manage repair, refurbishment and improvement projects.
• Undertake contract administration duties.
• Prepare schedules of condition and support dilapidations instructions.
• Liaise with clients, contractors and other construction professionals.
• Monitor project progress, quality and compliance.
• Manage multiple instructions and ensure work is delivered to agreed timescales.
• Support junior members of the surveying team where required.

Skills & Experience

• MRICS qualified Building Surveyor.
• Strong previous experience within building surveying.
• Good knowledge of building pathology, construction and property maintenance.
• Experience with refurbishment, repair and project work.
• Strong report-writing and client-facing skills.
• Good understanding of contract administration.
• Strong organisation and project-management ability.
• Confident managing multiple instructions and priorities.
• Full UK driving licence would be advantageous.
