Manufacturing Buyer Job in Manchester | £35-40k Salary (Hybrid)

FindCore are delighted to be assisting an established manufacturing business with the recruitment of a Buyer.

Permanent, full-time position based in Manchester, with hybrid working available.

Salary

£35,000 – £40,000, depending on experience + additional benefits

Key Responsibilities

• Manage purchasing activity across materials, components and services.
• Source and negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing and terms.
• Raise and manage purchase orders through to delivery.
• Monitor supplier performance, lead times and service levels.
• Work closely with production, engineering and planning teams.
• Support cost reduction and supplier improvement initiatives.
• Manage stock requirements and help maintain appropriate inventory levels.
• Identify new suppliers and support supplier onboarding.
• Resolve supply, quality and delivery issues.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records and supplier information.

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience as a Buyer, Purchasing Officer or Procurement Specialist.
• Experience within manufacturing, engineering or a similar environment.
• Strong supplier negotiation and relationship-management skills.
• Good commercial awareness and cost-control experience.
• Confident managing purchase orders, lead times and supplier performance.
• Strong organisation and attention to detail.
• Experience using ERP or MRP systems would be advantageous.
• Good Excel and general IT skills.
• CIPS qualification would be beneficial but is not essential.
